How To Plan A Disney Dream Vacation

By Frances Young

When it comes to a family vacation, there are often a number of options. While this is the case, some of the best fun a family can have is on a disney dream vacation. For, while all parks in California and Florida were originally designed for children, there are also amusements and events targeted towards adults.

The toughest part of a Disney vacation is often to know which parks to visit. In most cases, a combination pass to all parks is a much better than deal than only visiting one or two parks on an individual basis. In addition, when staying at themed hotels at a park, individuals often gain early park admission, discounts at gifts shops, food and drink.

While heading out on vacation is often the most exciting aspect, there are also park savings plans which individuals can set up long before a travel date. The Disney savings plans allows individuals or families to set up a goal amount, then contribute to the plan on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Then, once enough money is in the account, it can often be easier to hit the road without worry as to money matters.

While the parks make for a great family vacation, timing is important. For example, individuals whom have difficulty in large crowds may want to visit the park system in Fall or Winter rather than the extremely busy months of Spring and Summer. Although, while most water parks remain open during these months, most close down during inclement weather.

Most parks stay open except during hurricanes and major floods. Whereas, if inclement weather occurs during park hours, a number of rides, especially those of an electrical nature can be shut down. As such, knowing the forecast ahead of time, even in Spring and Summer can often save park goers a great deal of disappointment and frustration.

One thing most people forget is that food and drinks are not included in ticket price. In addition, there are thrill rides which charge extra. As such, it is important to budget carefully and assure that all these needs are attended to. For, most parks do not allow outside food or drink, except for special dietary needs such as those of diabetics.

While the parks have a lot of amusement rides and entertainment for children, most have height requirements. As such, it is often advised that individuals view this information on the Disney websites before purchasing tickets. For, once tickets are purchased, no refunds are available.

Whether planning a trip to a park or parks in California or Florida, Disney can also be an exciting experience for individual travelers. In addition, solo travelers can often find a number of discount lodging options such as dorm rooms at local youth hostels, or inexpensive bed and breakfasts. While there are generally no alarm clocks, radios or television at these locations, most people now use earphones while listening to, or watching various shows on smart phones or tablets.

Either park system, California or Florida can be fun for singles as well as families. By planning ahead, visitors can often experience a vacation of a lifetime. Whereas, if in need of travel assistance, there are Disney representatives ready to chat with future visitors and assist with questions on each park website.
