You Can Have A Great Time In Delray Beach Florida

By Jony Mozen

One of the most admired holiday resorts on the Atlantic Ocean shores of America is Delray Beach. This bubbly destination is close to both the Palm Beach International Airport (roughly fifteen miles distant) and Fort Lauderdale International Airport (about 28 miles away). The municipality holds in excess of two miles of perfect golden sands along the coastline of southern Florida.

This coastal area has a wide range of attractions. There are many fine restaurants in Delray Beach Florida, including the Caribbean cuisine at the Cabana, Italian flavours at the Caffe Luna Rosa and the Bird Nest Tree oriental eatery. Culture vultures can enjoy the displays at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Birdwatchers and nature lovers can explore the Wakodahatchee Wetlands wildlife area.

Atlantic Avenue has been described as this village-by-the-sea's Main Street. It features diverse shops and boutiques as well as more top-class dining and a lively nightlife. There are many live music venues in the side streets just off the main street, notably Pineapple Grove. Some of America's warmest winter weather provides the downtown district with an ideal setting for outdoor exhibitions, arts and crafts fairs.

Tourists and residents alike can get around downtown Delray on a free trolley car. Golf carts also provide convenient transport through the neighbourhood. There are some striking Art Deco buildings set amongst the tree-lined streets.

The beautiful, unsoiled and fairly quiet Atlantic Dunes Park area is perfect for swimmers and anglers to enjoy the crystal-clear waters. Visitors may like to stroll along the nature trails that wind gently through the sea-grass and sand-dunes. The shoreline is protected by lifeguards and police patrols. Some impressive hotels are located close by, including Breakers on the Ocean, Crane's BeachHouse Hotel and Tiki Bar and Wright By The Sea.

One of the state's leading art galleries is to be found at 180 Northeast 1st Street, namely the Arts Garage. This distinguished venue provides a number of attention-grabbing modes of entertainment. People on vacation can happily bring food and drink of their own. Gifted entertainers and artists set the Arts Garage apart, forming a focus for Florida's fine arts and recital communities. Critics all comment on the excellent views available from any of the theatre's 150 seats. The welcoming and relaxed atmosphere lends itself perfectly to the preferred jazz and blues musical styles performed here.

Another neighbourhood theatre believed to present a small taste of Broadway by the beach comes in the shape of the Cornell Museum of Art. Kids are welcome to get inventive with their individual artistic talents here, whilst their elders take in the collections of excellent water colours. The building that houses this museum was once an exquisite school house and it has now been fondly refurbished to the way it looked in 1913.

Delray is part of the Miami metropolitan area in the Palm Beach County. This section of the Everglades is also central to Florida's Gold Coast district. The hard courts of the local Tennis Centre host the ATP World Tour Delray International Tennis Championships.
