Planning The Best Disney Cruise Vacation Packages

By Janet Wright

Taking a trip with your family can be daunting. There are so many parts to consider, including transportation, where to stay, and the cost of eating out for every meal. One way to avoid all these hassles is to look at Disney cruise vacation packages instead. With a package deal, you get all the components of your vacation in one, without having to have separate bookings. It is also convenient and very fun for the whole family.

There are several packages for you to choose from. If you live within driving distance of the port and would rather drive than fly, you may choose one that includes a car rental. If you live too far to drive, then a deal with airfare and an overnight stay at a local hotel the night before the cruise are also available.

In case you need an overnight stay the day before embarkation, then you have a variety of price options to choose from for your room. From five star hotels that have all the amenities and room service, to a budget option that is no frills to save money, you can get anything you need. Be sure to ask for a place that has free shuttle service to the port, or else you will have to pay for your own shuttle or taxi.

If you live in the United States, then you can leave out of multiple ports, depending on which countries you wish to travel to. For example, a popular one is leaving out of Galveston, Texas. This means you can go to the western Caribbean and perhaps Mexico on your trip. If you were to leave out of Florida instead, you may be able to visit the eastern Caribbean and even Disney's private island where no other ships are allowed to go.

Instead of leaving out of the United States, there are some itineraries that leave out of Europe, necessitating an overseas flight. After you arrive, there is often a welcome party that you get to attend, letting you start your vacation a day early. You also get to explore great cities without booking multiple trip legs.

The food is one of the main attractions with Disney, because they go all out to ensure you get world class cooking. This is covered in the cost of the trip, as well as most nonalcoholic beverages. Adult beverages cost extra if you want them.

The onboard spa is a popular retreat, with many services such as facials, acupuncture, massage and more available from trained professionals. These are not included in your standard fee, however, so like the alcohol, you must pay separately for these.

Taxes and gratuities are extra. Just like the onboard credits, you can prepay for them in advance if you prefer, that way you will only pay for souvenirs and not have to worry about surprise charges for taxes and gratuities.

Booking a Disney cruise means you get to make memories that last a lifetime. No matter where you leave from or what package you book, you will have a fun and relaxing time.
