Jamaica Family Resorts All Inclusive Information

By Barbara Lee

It can be tough to find a vacation that appeals to every member of the family. While parents may wish some peace and quiet, kids prefer to run around and be entertained every waking hour. Budgeting for restaurants in a new town and catering for the sometimes selective palate of a child also can cause headaches. Travel to Jamaica family resorts all inclusive and these worries will disappear.

Right in the heart of the Caribbean, this beautiful island has so much to offer. There are rain forests, glorious beaches, waterfalls, sugar plantations and a host of water sports to enjoy. The majority of hotels are located on the north side of the island at Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay, Montego Bay and Negril. Each of these areas boasts an excellent selection of hotels offering packages to suit all budgets.

When you are travelling with children, the transfer time from the airport to your chosen hotel can be a deciding factor. Children who are tired and grumpy after a long flight will be even grumpier after a 4 hour coach ride to the resort. There are two main airports which serve the island, Kingston and Montego Bay, so try to book so that you fly into the one nearest your chosen destination.

Each of the main holiday areas has attractions nearby so families wishing to explore the island should be able to find some activities without travelling too far. Should you wish to visit a particular beauty spot such as Dunn's River Falls, then you might want to look at hotels near Ocho Rios rather than Negril. Montego Bay area has the benefit of being central and close to the airport, but there are fewer options for accommodation than the more popular Negril.

Each of the main tourist areas benefits from the beautiful sandy beaches which allow access to all manner of water sports and activities. There are any number of things to do out of the water as well which should be listed in the hotel's brochure or on their website. Some activities might incur an extra charge so check to see whether the things you like to do are included.

One activity which is likely to be an extra is scuba diving. The Caribbean is a popular destination for divers thanks to the clear water and variety of marine life. If your resort does not offer this and you want to try then contact local dive centers for rates.

Your budget will probably influence which hotel you pick in the resort area you have selected. Obviously facilities and quality of food will vary according to the price of the accommodation, but careful research can unearth bargains at hotels that have all the amenities you could wish for. Internet sites where previous customers describe their experience can be invaluable.

Many of the hotels have kids clubs, water parks, baby sitting and regular entertainment to keep the young ones busy all day. Some are themed to a popular kids TV show, while others offer free places for kids or boast large family suites. Whatever you are looking for in a superb family vacation can be found on this lovely sun-drenched island.
